Every piece is made carefully & slowly by hand at our Auckland home studio. The leather used from our permanent collection is sourced from local tanneries. For everything else we can't make locally, we exhaust options from NZ businesses first before we look beyond our shores, even if it means cutting our margins.

Frequently asked questions
What's your mode of delivery?
We deliver nationwide for a flat rate. We only use NZ Post with Signature delivery for all Urban deliveries. If you wish to have your left in your property, please visit the tracking link and leave an authority to leave.
How long before I receive my personalised journal?
Please give us 2 full working days to make your order, then 1-3 days to deliver to Urban addresses. Please allow for extra days for rural deliveries.
Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking link.
Can I pick up my order instead?
Yes! We encourage preorders for pick up. At Check-Out, you can select the pick up point available based on our pop up markets. We announce our pop up markets on Instagram (@studiodefigue) if you'd like to know in advance.
Are your journals handmade?
Yes! The leather pieces are all hand-picked from our suppliers and made by hand from cutting, setting holes and hardware, assembly. We use a machine to stamp the name due to the technical requirements of heat or goldfoil stamps.
The notebooks and charms are currently not handmade to keep them accessible, however, we are working on releasing a handmade range. Watch this space.
